Korean premium brand Genesis officially unveiled the new Genesis G80. Changing the generation, the sedan received new engines, radically transformed externally and became more technologically advanced inside.
The exterior of the new G80 is very similar to the GV80 crossover – it has the same dual strips of headlights and taillights, complemented by similar “grilles” on the front wings. The shape of the stern is now more like a fastback with a sloping roof and a heavily littered rear window, smoothly turning into the tail of the trunk. The wheelbase has not changed (3010 mm) with a generation change, and the length and width have increased by 5 mm (up to 4995 mm) and 35 mm (up to 1925 mm), respectively.
Inside, the G80 is exactly repeating the “relative”: the finish is in contrasting colors, the dashboard is digital, and the 14.5-inch touch screen of the infotainment complex is installed on the center console with ash inserts.
The engine range, which retained the 2.2-liter 210-horsepower turbodiesel, has acquired two new engines: the 2.2-liter turbo four T-GDI for 304 horses and the 3.5-liter V6 turbo engine for 380 horsepower. All units are “friends” with an eight-speed “automatic” (with a washer instead of the traditional selector) and two two types of drive: rear or full with a front axle clutch.
The equipment of the sedan now includes up to ten airbags (including central), three-zone climate control, a panoramic roof, Lexicon audio system with active noise reduction and adaptive cruise control Highway Driving Assist II with the ability to automatically change lanes while driving on the highway.
